If all you need to do is display a few Bibles, do some concordance work, and maybe a few commentaries, then Quickverse is very good at that. It is about the worst Bible program that I have seen. If exegetical study is what you want then there are one or 2 peers to Logos but they do not offer much else but language tools. Options for Bible software on Mac are pretty bad. I can then copy the Index to the clipboard and paste it into my exegetical or word study documents. I think that is why people hang on to the old so long. Findex is now shipping , a Macintosh edition of the best selling QuickVerse Bible study software. If power and a large library is what you want then Logos has no peer. If simple easy to use out of the box is what you what, again no peer to Logos. I was just reading your note and you really nailed our position in the market. This one is not free, and not even inexpensive. Can't beat the overall value of this product I first bought Quikverse back in the early 90's and have always loved it. To use Logos at the same level of study that you can use Quickverse requires no weekend seminar. I wrote this in 2007 and people are still coming here, looking for QuickVerse support. I have used other versions of Quickverse…they had information overload! And there are only two reasons why I even need to run Windows — one is Outlook for e-mail and the other is QuickVerse 4. Needless to say, I uninstalled the program right away as the resources available for purchase are available elsewhere some in print and some software for considerably less money. Why should someone buy Logos instead of QuickVerse?
I miss the simplicity of the older version, but this newer version has so many books, it is well worth it just having them. Quickverse was the only software I had used so I was concerned when Word Search came along. But then I started watching all of the videos and really saw what Logos can do. To use any of the programs above to reduplicate this can take much more time. I know I do not use the software to it's limits I'd like to see a poll on the number of users who really do! Not mention their dedication to expanding with progressions in operating systems and tech changes. Our regular readers must have noticed this blog is not updated quite as often it was used to be. It's very similar with Logos and other Bible programs.
